Unfettered Malaise

Walking through life in a slight haze
waiting for the rusted anvil to drop
and expecting that stop sign to bend
is a feeling of unfettered malaise

Feet in the sand, head in the sky
There is no more noise to hear
Ears plugged shut, nose clogged
Holding my breath until tomorrow
