The Other Side of the Pillow

Lonely from always
being lain on its face,
the other side of the pillow
is harboring resentment

Pressed down, discarded
like the underlegs of a table
and the errant dust in
the corner of your room

Slept upon, the weight
of our misplaced dreams
lying heavy on its back
The pillow slowly dies
