Pockets

A twenty-dollar bill folded
eight ways like origami
next to tri-color lint
and a ticket stub from
who knows what and
who knows when it was

Sometimes, I like to store
my emotion in a shirt
pocket because then
I can take it out and
look at it before I throw
it into a street gutter
