There are days when everything
looks better under dim lighting
without the maelstrom of upsell
written on cheeks of lit faces

We place a brown blanket over
our heads and crouch inside
the knitted cocoon to hide
from all of the bright lights

And then we realize that we
can close our eyes tightly
and blot out the tilted refraction
